Contemporary dance artist, choreographer, and dancer from Tokyo, Japan.
Misato started her classical ballet training at the age of 3 and contemporary dance at the age of 15. She is interested in choreography from an early age and she made her piece when she was 16years old.
Graduated from Ochanomizu University(Tokyo, Japan) with a BA in Dance and Dance Education in 2016.
She started her career as a professional dancer in Japan during her study at university and performed in Ryohei Kondo's productions, also appeared on promotion videos. In 2016 she formed her own dance company named "&dot.", presented first full-length work titled 5 Preludes for Sneakers.
In 2017, she has gotten a scholarship from the Japanese government and studied at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, UK. She finished MA Dance & Creative Enterprise with Distinction.
During her study in the UK, she was selected to perform her solo "The Fly" at the dance festival in Leicester "Let's Dance International Frontiers18".
In 2019, She graduated from Ochanomizu University with an MA in Humanities (Dance Studies Major).
She is also a founding member of "cocozine", a collective of young Japanese artists(dance, music, architect and drama) and they presented their first performance project in a Japanese traditional house.
She was invited to perform a full-length version of "The Fly" to "Let's Dance International Frontiers19", Leicester UK in May 2019.
In 2020, she presented a project "HASHTAG 2.0" at a gallery in Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, funded by Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan.
